Benromach – 2014-2024 Contrasts Peat Smoke (70cl, 46%)

Benromach Contrasts: Peat Smoke is a Speyside single malt made from heavily peated barley, at a phenol level of 57PPM. That is well above the level used for the distillery's usual lightly smoky house style. It was distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2024 by the distillery, after nine years in first-fill bourbon barrels. It is bottled at 46% without chill filtration, in a 70cl bottle. The distillery describes fragrant vanilla alongside lemon sherbet and apricot, leading into a smoky finish with bonfire embers.
