This is a ten-year-old single cask Speyside single malt from Benromach, distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2025 at 58.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It matured in a first-fill sherry hogshead.
Benromach is in Forres, in the north of Speyside, and was founded in 1898. The spirit is made from Concerto barley with a long fermentation. Peat runs through the whisky alongside medicinal, rooty, saline and floral notes, with fruit and chocolate layers of an oxidative, sherried character.
The nose shows roasted fig, ripe pineapple, dried apricot, iodine and dark chocolate. The palate is peppery and firm, with ginger, liquorice and salted almonds, and the finish brings coconut, pine, liquorice and Williams pear.
