Benromach 21 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from the small Forres distillery, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle and in natural colour. It keeps the gentle smoke that runs through Benromach's whisky.
It was matured in first-fill bourbon and sherry casks only, and comes in a presentation box.
The nose has stewed apples, poached pears, sultanas and toffee, with orange marmalade and a little peat smoke. On the palate are malted barley, dark honey, plum and cherry compote, with milk chocolate and a subtle savoury smokiness. The finish is long and warming, with dried fruit, soft spice and earthy smoke.
