This is a Speyside single malt from Benromach Distillery, aged for 21 years in first-fill Sherry and Bourbon casks and bottled at 43% ABV.
It combines the distillery's balance of rich fruit, creamy malt and gentle smokiness with Sherry influence, bright citrus and warming spice.
The nose is sweet Sherry with citrus, ginger and oak, and a subtle touch of smoke. The palate starts sweet, then develops cracked black pepper, Seville orange and raspberry, followed by baked apple and subtle spice. The finish is lingering, with charred oak and soft smoke.
