This is a 21 year old single malt from Benromach, a family-owned distillery. It was matured for over two decades in first-fill sherry and bourbon casks, with the sherry-seasoned oak coming from Jerez in Spain.
The sherry influence is nuanced, alongside Benromach's house character of fruit, creamy malt and gentle smokiness. It opens with sweet sherry aromas, followed by Seville orange and a subtle spice on the palate.
