Benromach – 21 Years (70cl, 43%)

Benromach 21 Years is a single malt from Forres, on the north-west edge of Speyside, bottled at 43%. The distillery has worked since 1998 to revive a fuller Speyside style with a touch of smoke, using Highland peat, brewer's yeast alongside distiller's yeast, very long fermentations and first-fill casks only. It is described as elegant, with Seville orange, baked apple, sweetness and spice, ending slowly on soft smoke.
