Benromach 22 (2003/2025) – 1st Fill Bourbon & Sherry Casks – Wu Dram Clan (70cl, 55%)

This Benromach 22 Year Old was chosen for the Wu Dram Clan at the distillery in Forres. The group set out to find a single cask, but ended up selecting four casks for a small batch. It was distilled in 2003 and bottled in 2025 at 55%, with 1,067 bottles in 70cl. Two first fill sherry casks gave creamy, deep notes with a slightly mineral, musty character. Two first fill bourbon barrels added mango, papaya and coconut, along with distinctly smoky qualities and a fine salty depth. The whisky brings together tropical fruit, dark nutty sherry tones, mineral freshness and smoky elegance. It is the first bottling of its kind for Benromach and an independent bottler.
