Benromach – 22 Year Old Small Batch Edition #1 (70cl)

The first edition in Benromach's Small Batch series, this is a limited single malt Scotch distilled in 2003 and matured for 22 years. It spent that time in hand-selected first-fill bourbon and sherry casks, and is bottled at cask strength. The whisky is deep amber, with a full, smooth and coating mouthfeel. The nose is typically described as raspberry, strawberry and cranberry, followed by dried ginger, dark chocolate, orange marmalade, green apple and sweet smoke. On the palate there is stewed apple, Seville orange, charred oak and strawberry liquorice. The finish brings walnut, lingering warm spice and a little peat smoke.
