Benromach 25 Year Old is a Speyside single malt matured for 25 years in bourbon and sherry casks. It is bottled at 46%, without chill-filtration and without added colour.
The distillery stands in Forres and was founded in 1898. The Urquhart family of Gordon & MacPhail took it over in 1993, and Prince Charles formally reopened it in 1998. The casks are filled by hand and stored in traditional dunnage warehouses. Fruity sweetness meets restrained smoke and ripe oak spice.
The nose offers strong berry aromas, caramelised apple and fine vanilla. On the palate come juicy raisins, lively orange, tropical fruit and dried banana, with light smoke. The finish is long, carried by ripe oak spice.
