Benromach – 40 Year Old 2022 Release Batch 2 (70cl, 56.5%)

This is a 40 year old Benromach, the second batch of the 2022 release, bottled in 2022 by the distillery. It was matured in sherry casks and bottled at a natural cask strength of 56.5% in a 70cl bottle, with 1,098 bottles released. The nose offers ripe red apple, clove and ginger, with dried fruit, tangerine peel and a little beeswax polish. On the palate come orange oil, stewed raisin and black pepper, followed by raspberry compote, walnut, dried tobacco and charred oak. The finish is full and lingering, with festive spices.
