Benromach Contracts: High Enzyme is a limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It explores the technical side of distilling, using high enzyme, unpeated barley to bring out characteristics more often found in grain whisky than in malt. It was matured in first-fill bourbon barrels.
The nose is delicate, with fresh lemon sherbet, malted barley and green apple, followed by jasmine. The palate is sweet and creamy, with pink grapefruit, lemon and lime, then pineapple giving way to honeycomb and spicy pepper.
The finish is long and fresh, with charred oak and peppermint.
