Benromach – Contrasts: Kiln Dried Oak 2012 (70cl, 46%)

This is a limited-edition single malt from Benromach, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It belongs to the Contrasts series and carries the year 2012. The whisky was matured in kiln dried virgin oak barrels, which is what sets it apart from a more conventional cask line-up. The nose is sweet, with malted biscuit, lemon and apple. On the palate it is creamy and fruity, moving to barley sugar and mixed tropical fruit. The finish brings subtle smoke and menthol.
