A 10 year old Speyside single malt from Benromach, released in its Contrasts range, where the distillery experiments beyond its usual style. This is a new batch of Peat Smoke, distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2024 at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It was matured in first fill bourbon casks and is peated to 57 ppm. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
The nose is very smoky, with vanilla, light citrus peel, apple and white chocolate. The palate is soft, with toasted oak, honey and ripe fruit, then butterscotch and lemon sorbet alongside sweet smoke. The finish is sweet, with campfire embers.
