Benromach Contrasts Peat Smoke is a Speyside single malt made in small batches from heavily peated barley. It is matured in first-fill bourbon barrels and bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
Fragrant vanilla and light citrus zest sit beneath very rich smoke on the nose, with hints of apple and white chocolate developing. The palate is smooth, with toasted oak, honey and sweet ripe fruit, then butterscotch, marshmallow and lemon sherbet alongside sweet smoke. The finish is mouth-coating and sweet, with bonfire embers.
