This is a smoky single malt from Benromach, part of the Contrasts series. It is made from heavily peated barley and was bottled at 46% ABV.
The whisky matured in first-fill bourbon casks from 2014 to 2023.
The nose combines roasted nuts, vanilla, earthy barley, cinnamon and ginger, with a hint of summer meadow. On the palate it turns fruitier, with burnt orange peel and a touch of apple, while still carrying a good measure of peat smoke. The finish brings embers, brown sugar and grilled pineapple.
