Benromach Contrasts: Virgin Oak is a 10 year old Speyside single malt distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2024 at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The lightly peated spirit was matured entirely in American virgin oak. The wood was air dried and made into 250 litre hogsheads by coopers in Speyside, which gives a brighter, oak-forward take on the Benromach style.
It is typically described as showing dried banana, citrus, butterscotch and vanilla fudge, with the distillery's gentle smoke in support.
