Benromach – Kiln Dried Oak 2012

A limited-edition single malt Scotch from the Benromach distillery in Speyside, matured in virgin oak casks that were kiln dried. Benromach is owned and run by Gordon & MacPhail, the independent family company based in Elgin. The distillery was closed for some years before Gordon & MacPhail bought it in 1993 and reopened it in 1998. The nose combines lemon peel, rusk, apple and brown sugar. On the palate come tropical fruit, light smoke, jam on toast and cinnamon. The finish is peppery and spicy, with sweet smoke.
