This is a 9 year old Speyside single malt from Benromach, distilled in 2005 and bottled in 2014 at 46% ABV. It was matured in first-fill bourbon barrels and made from malt peated to 67ppm, a high level for Speyside. The nose opens with powerful, medicinal and earthy peat smoke, then shows vanilla, toasted oak and orange zest, with hints of lychee, apricot and tobacco. On the palate come blood orange, grapefruit zest and liquorice, with grassy, saline smoke and a sweetness of buttery pastry and pineapple candy. The finish is long and peppery, with lingering smoke, toasted oak and a trace of pear.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
