Benromach Peat Smoke is a single malt from the Benromach distillery, just north of Forres in Speyside. The name Benromach comes from the Gaelic for rugged mountain.
The distillery was built in 1898 and closed for good in 1983. Gordon & MacPhail bought the empty buildings in 1992, and the Prince of Wales reopened the distillery in 1998. Maturation is mainly in sherry casks, alongside refill and bourbon casks.
