Benromach Peat Smoke is a smoky single malt from the Speyside distillery, part of its Contrasts series. It is sold in a 70cl bottle at 43%.
The whisky was made from heavily peated barley and matured in first-fill bourbon barrels from 2009 to 2020.
The nose brings roasted nuts, vanilla pod, earthy barley, cinnamon and ginger, with a hint of summer meadow. On the palate there is flamed orange peel and a splash of apple, with peat smoke still present. The finish carries bonfire embers, brown sugar and grilled pineapple.
