Benromach – Sassicaia Wood Finish 2011 (70cl)

This is a single malt from Benromach, part of the distillery's Wood Finish series, in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2019. The whisky spent six years in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, then two more years in casks that previously held Sassicaia, one of Italy's best-known red wines. It is typically described as having summer fruit, sweet spice and milk chocolate, with a light smoky note arriving in the finish.
