The whisky matured in first-fill sherry hogsheads. Benromach was built in Forres, Scotland, in 1898, and has belonged to the family firm Gordon & MacPhail since 1993.
It is described as sweet, with sherry influence, subtle citrus, rich spice and stewed fruit. A soft smoke follows in the finish.
