Berneroy Fine Calvados (70cl)

A Calvados Fine from Berneroy in Normandy, made under the Calvados AOC rules with a single distillation. The apples are pressed and fermented with their natural yeast into a cider of about 6%, then distilled in antique copper stills. It is the youngest in the Berneroy range, with two years in older oak casks that keep the apple character fresh and the influence of the wood discreet. Golden and clear, it smells of fresh green apples with plenty of intensity. The palate follows with apple, butter, vanilla and a little liquorice. It can be served with coffee over an ice cube or used in cocktails.
