Bhakta 1973 Vintage Armagnac (75cl, 53.9%)

This is a single-vintage Armagnac from Gascony, distilled in 1973 and sold as a 50 year old. It comes from a library of vintage Armagnacs that reaches back through nearly every year since 1868, each one shaped by its own climate and the time it has spent in wood and glass. The colour is a light golden amber. The nose offers baked apple, cinnamon, old books and leather, alongside stewed ripe fruit and brown sugar. On the palate come cinnamon, nutmeg, white pepper and macerated raisins, and the finish is long and pleasant with a note of oak.
