A 15 year old small batch Tennessee straight bourbon from Bib & Tucker, bottled at 57.5% in a 75cl bottle. It is the oldest expression the brand has released and is a limited edition.
The Golden Spike takes its name from the transcontinental railroad and the gold spike used to complete the line joining east and west.
The nose is sweet, with sweetened corn cereal, vanilla, butterscotch and almond syrup, and later savoury touches of barrel char and dill. On the palate the butterscotch is pronounced, and the fruit turns tropical, with lychee, pineapple, a hint of coconut and guava.
