This is an 8 year old Norwegian single malt from Bivrost, drawn from a single cask at 58.7% ABV in a 50cl bottle. It is the first age-stated, cask strength whisky from the Aurora Spirit distillery, which sits around 69 degrees north below the Lyngen Alps in an old NATO base.
The spirit was distilled on 6 June 2018 and matured in ex-aquavit and seasoned Oloroso sherry casks.
The nose is led by sherry, with dried fruit, toasted oak, herbal notes and spice. The palate is full and intense, with fig, sultanas and mint. The finish is long, warming and gently spicy.
