Bivrost – Yggdrasil 2024 Release (50cl, 46%)

Bivrost Yggdrasil 2024 is a single malt made in the Arctic Circle, at the foot of the Lyngen Alps. It is the distillery's first vintage release, intended to become an annual series of Norse mythology-inspired editions, and takes its name from the ash tree said to bind the Nine Worlds together. The whisky was matured in Oloroso sherry-seasoned casks and in-house charred barrels, and is aged between 4 and 6 years. It is bottled at 46% with an outturn of 9009 individually numbered bottles. The nose offers dried fruit, orange blossom, bonfire smoke and the air of an old Spanish bodega. The palate is velvety, with toasted oak, caramelised mandarin, roasted nuts and a little delicate peat smoke.
