Bivrost – Yggdrasil 2025 Release (50cl, 46%)

Bivrost Yggdrasil 2025 is a single malt from a distillery in the Arctic Circle, at the foot of the Lyngen Alps in Norway. It is the first vintage release in what is planned as an annual series of Norse mythology-inspired editions, named after the ash tree that binds the Nine Worlds together in Norse legend. The whisky was matured for between 4 and 6 years in Oloroso sherry-seasoned casks and in-house charred barrels. It is bottled at 46% in a run of 14000 numbered bottles. The nose has dried fruit, orange blossom, bonfire smoke and the air of an old Spanish bodega. The palate is velvety, with toasted oak, caramelised mandarin, roasted nuts and a whisper of peat smoke.
