Black Bull 12 Year Old is a blended Scotch whisky in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 50% ABV without chill filtration. It is a high-malt-content blend of malt and grain whiskies, each aged for at least 12 years in a mix of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks.
Black Bull is the flagship brand of Duncan Taylor, an independent company, and has been blended at 50% since the 1800s, a style first made for export markets.
The nose offers vanilla fudge, toffee and ripe stone fruits with gentle oak spice. The palate is creamy, with honey, milk chocolate and baked apple, then cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish is long, warming and slightly nutty.
