Black Bull Kyloe Rum Finish is a Scotch blend given an additional period of maturation in Caribbean rum casks after its earlier ageing. It is bottled by Duncan Taylor at 50% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and without added colour.
Black Bull is a Duncan Taylor brand. The company is based in Huntly, Aberdeenshire, while the name goes back to 1864, when George Willsher founded it in his shop in Dundee.
The nose has toasted coconut and oak with juicy tropical fruit, vanilla and icing sugar. The palate brings biscuity malt, brown sugar, candied citrus and crisp apple, with a creamy texture and a little fresh mint over time. The finish carries marzipan, roasted nuts, oak, vanilla and orchard fruit, with pepper, marmalade and a hint of ginger.
