Black Velvet Toasted Caramel is a Canadian whisky made at the Black Velvet Distilling Company in Lethbridge, Alberta, near the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The brand has been around since 1951 and takes its name from its velvety texture. Rye, other grains and corn are matured in oak barrels, with the blending done during maturation rather than afterwards. Hints of sweet caramel are infused into the smooth, easy-drinking house style.
