Black & White 1949 Blended Scotch Whisky U.S. Import

This is a bottle of Black & White blended Scotch whisky, imported to the United States in 1949 by the Fleischmann Distilling Corporation of New York. It is sealed with a spring cap. The blend began with James Buchanan, who in 1884 worked with W.P. Lowrie to create the first Buchanan Blend from Dalwhinnie, Clynelish and Glendullan. It was renamed after the House of Commons bar, where it had become the drink of choice. Black & White, after its monochrome packaging, became the brand's official name in 1902.
