Black & White 1950s/60s (75cl, 43%)

This is a bottle of Black & White blended whisky, marked as dating from the 1950s and 60s. It is bottled at 43% ABV and comes in a 75cl bottle. The nose is full of beeswax, leather and malt, with toasty notes, soft peat smoke and floral touches, then nuts and orange peel. The palate is richer and fuller-bodied than the strength suggests, with oatmeal biscuits, caramel, young wood spice and dried fruit, and a fine thread of peat smoke. The finish is warm and of medium length, moving from honey and caramel sweetness to a dry close with light woody spice and citrus.
