Black & White is a blended Scotch whisky from James Buchanan & Company. This is a 2 litre bottle from the 1970s, at 40% strength. The nose is robust, lightly smoky and earthy, with muted peat, toasted caramel, lemon zest, walnuts and a faint backdrop of apple and pear. The palate opens soft but rich and oily, with tea biscuits, salted caramel and marzipan, a noticeable peat note and a malty, lightly spiced character. The finish runs medium to long, with toasted cereal, white pepper and lingering smoke.
