Black & White is a blended whisky from James Buchanan & Company. This bottle dates from the 1960s and holds 26 2/3 fl oz (757ml) at 70 proof, which is 35% ABV.
The nose is complex and full-bodied, with beeswax, old books and orange peel over a subtle background of peat smoke, along with sweet malt, oatcakes and nuts.
The palate is rich, balanced and smooth, with vanilla, caramel, cane sugar and nuts, a floral touch and a refined smokiness. The finish is of medium length and warm, with oak, gentle spice, honey and echoes of citrus and smoke.
