Black & White 70 Proof is a blended whisky from James Buchanan & Company, dating from the 1960s. It comes in a 75.7cl bottle, labelled 26 2/3 fl oz, at 35% ABV.
The nose is delicate, with beeswax, old books and orange peel over very soft peat smoke, and florals, nuts and a touch of vanilla behind. On the palate it is soft and mature, with oatcakes, light caramel, dried flowers and a refined wisp of smoke, plus fruit with tropical and nutty glints.
The finish is medium in length and pleasantly warm, with gentle smoke alongside citrus peel, oak and fine spices.
