This is a vintage bottling of Black & White blended Scotch from James Buchanan & Company, dating from the 1960s. It comes in a petaca, a flask-style 75cl bottle, at 40% ABV.
The nose is complex, with the notes of age typical of an old bottle: beeswax, old books, orange peel, a subtle medicinal peat smoke and malty biscuit. The palate is waxy and oily, with wild honey, dry hay, toasted caramel, a touch of soot and gentle oak spice. The finish is medium to long and dry, with yellow fruit and old sherried wood.
