Black & White Twelve is a 12 year old blended whisky from the 1940s, bottled at 86.8 proof, or 43.4% ABV, in a 4/5 quart bottle of 757ml.
The nose is rich and intense, with sherry, dark toffee, old leather, furniture wax, figs and dates, along with earthy peat smoke. The palate is dense, oily and creamy, with smoke, toasted wood, orange peel, dark chocolate and a malty, sponge-cake sweetness. The finish is long and warm, with charred oak, wood smoke, salt and a faint metallic note.
