Blackwater – Oaty McOatface Double Oat Double Turf Irish Whisky (50cl, 47.2%)

Oaty McOatface is an Irish whiskey from Blackwater Distillery in West Waterford, deliberately designed outside the current pot still specification. Its grain bill is 50% malted barley, 24% malted oats, 12% unmalted barley, 5% peat-smoked malted barley, 5% rye and 4% peated oats. It was distilled twice and matured in two casks, one of them a Maple Cognac cask filled on 18 May 2021. The edition is limited to 1,800 bottles at 47.2%, in 50cl bottles made from recycled glass. It won Gold at the World Whiskies Awards 2025. The nose is sweet, with toasted oats and light smoke. The palate is creamy, recalling sweet breakfast porridge and smoked maple pastry. The finish is long, with sweetness and spice.
