Blackwater The Full Irish Blended Irish Whiskey (50cl, 48.5%)

The first blend from Blackwater Distillery in County Waterford, bringing together three styles of Irish whiskey. Forty-five per cent is five-year-old single malt and 45% five-year-old pot still whiskey, both made at the distillery, with 10% seven-year-old grain whiskey. It was matured in bourbon barrels, then finished in stout casks from the Hopfully Brewing Company of Waterford. It is bottled at 48.5% in a 50cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colouring. The nose has puréed orchard fruit, sponge-like cereal notes and melted chocolate, with dark honey and caramel. The palate is creamy, nutty and soft, with smoke alongside the sweetness and a hint of banana bread. The long finish is savoury, with cocoa cake, citrus, pepper and spice.
