Blade and Bow Kentucky Straight Bourbon is a homage to the Stitzel-Weller distillery. It is aged in new charred American white oak barrels and bottled at 45.5% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
A solera system preserves some of the distillery's oldest whiskey stocks, including some of the last bourbon made there before it closed in 1992. That solera liquid is mingled with other whiskies aged and bottled at Stitzel-Weller.
The nose is subtle, with fresh fruit. The palate brings dried apricot, ripe pear and sweet roasted grain, followed by charred oak and warm winter spices in the finish.
