Bladnoch Samsara is a single malt Scotch whisky finished in Californian red wine casks and ex-whiskey barrels. Its name means 'resurrection' and marks the first release from the reawakened Bladnoch distillery.
It is bottled at 46.7% ABV, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, and has a copper-gold appearance.
The nose offers stewed fruit with plums, vanilla and orange blossom. The palate starts sweet and winey, dries slightly, then moves to plums, vanilla, citrus and a malty centre. The finish is mellow and winey with a zesty, lingering tail.
