Bladnoch – Samsara (70cl, 46.7%)

Bladnoch Samsara is a single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 46.7% in a 70cl bottle. The name means resurrection and marks the first release after the distillery's revival. It was finished in Californian red wine casks and ex-whiskey casks. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, a copper gold. The nose is stewed fruit with plums, vanilla and orange blossom. The palate starts sweet and winey, dries slightly, then brings more plums and vanilla, some citrus and a malty centre. The finish is mellow and winey with a zesty, lingering end.
