Bladnoch Vinaya is a Lowland single malt from The Bold Collection, bottled at 43.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The name comes from Sanskrit and means respect and gratitude; the bottling recalls the distillery's founders. It is made without chill-filtration or added colouring.
It combines whiskies from first-fill bourbon and first-fill Oloroso sherry casks, giving a fresh, layered malt with fruity and floral character and restrained spice.
The nose is sweet and grassy with floral hints and a touch of sweets. The palate has crisp green apple and chocolate with a little pepper, and the finish is light and refreshing.
