Blanton's Gold Edition Single Barrel Bourbon (75cl, 51.5%)

Blanton's Gold Edition is a single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace, bottled at 103 proof (51.5%), ten points above Blanton's Original. Every bottle comes from one barrel, distilled from Buffalo Trace's high rye mash bill and aged in Warehouse H. The label is filled in by hand with the dump date, barrel number, warehouse and rick, and the bottle wears the horse and jockey stopper. Honey amber in colour, it has caramel, honey and toasted oak on the nose. The palate is creamy, with vanilla, dark chocolate, spicy rye and a touch of tobacco. The finish is long and warming, with peppery spice and sweet oak.
