Blanton's Original Single Barrel Bourbon (70cl, 46.5%)

Blanton's The Original Single Barrel is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace, introduced in 1984 by master distiller Elmer T. Lee and named after Colonel Albert B. Blanton. It is made from the distillery's high rye mash bill and bottled at 93 proof (46.5%). This 700ml bottle is the export format of the 750ml sold in the United States. Each bottle comes from one barrel, hand selected from the centre cut of Warehouse H. The label is filled in by hand with the dump date, barrel number, warehouse and rick, and one of eight horse and jockey stoppers tops the bottle. The nose is creamy vanilla with caramel and butterscotch over clove, nutmeg and cinnamon. The palate is sweet, with citrus, caramel and oak, and the finish is smooth and lingering.
