Blanton's Takara Gold Edition Single Barrel Bourbon (75cl, 51.5%)

Blanton's Takara Gold Edition is the Japanese market version of Blanton's Gold, imported into Japan by Takara Shuzo. Each bottle comes from a single barrel at Buffalo Trace Distillery, distilled from the high rye Mash Bill #2 and aged in Warehouse H. It is bottled at 103 proof (51.5%) in a 750ml bottle, in a gold box with Kentucky Derby imagery and a maroon wax seal. The nose is caramel, wild honey and vanilla with dark cherry, orange zest and spicy rye. The palate is rich and oily, with toffee, cinnamon, cooked apple and orange marmalade. The finish is long and warming, with charred oak, cinnamon and vanilla.
