Blanton's Takara Red Single Barrel Bourbon (75cl, 46.5%)

Blanton's Takara Red is the Japanese market version of Blanton's Single Barrel, imported into Japan by Takara Shuzo. Each bottle comes from one barrel at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, distilled from the high rye Mash Bill #2 and aged in Warehouse H. It is bottled at 93 proof (46.5%) in a 750ml bottle. The label is filled in by hand with the barrel's dump date, barrel number, warehouse and rick. It comes in a burgundy box embossed with a gold Kentucky Derby scene. The nose is described as vanilla, toffee and caramel. The palate is rounded, with fudge, dark cherry, maple, fig and a touch of chocolate, and the finish is warm and gently spiced, with lingering oak.
