Blanton's The Original Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon (75cl, 46.5%)

Blanton's The Original Single Barrel is a Kentucky straight bourbon made at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. It is bottled at 46.5% ABV (93 proof) in a 750ml bottle, with no age statement. Each bottle is drawn from a single barrel, so flavour varies a little from one to the next. It has a round bottle and a horse-and-jockey stopper, and the stoppers come in eight poses whose base letters spell Blanton's. The nose has caramel, vanilla, citrus peel and light baking spice. The palate is rich and smooth, with honey, toasted oak, butterscotch and gentle spice, and the finish is long and warm with lingering sweetness and balanced oak.
