Boann PX Cask Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey (70cl)

This is a single pot still Irish whiskey from Boann Distillery, a family-run distillery on the banks of the river Boyne in County Meath. Its mash bill adds oats and rye to the traditional malted and unmalted barley, which brings extra spice and texture. It was matured in Oloroso sherry hogsheads from Bodegas Garvey in Jerez de la Frontera, then finished in old Pedro Ximénez solera casks. It comes in a 70cl bottle. The nose is rich with raisin, fig, molasses, caramel and a hint of leather. The palate is syrupy and full, with date, black cherry, honey, dark chocolate and cracked white pepper. The finish is long and earthy, with caramel lingering.
